Lawrence O'Donnell loses it!

by Evie / October 26, 2004 10:41 AM PDT

He's worse than Julianne Malveaux (who I hadn't seen in a while but has never made it through a Right-Left debate show without shouting down her opposition).

And MSLSD pays this man??

Let's all just hope this is the last time we hear DK quote this man's analysis.

And very richly deserved by those at whom it was directed.
K and I were amazed (it was on the McLaughlin Group last Friday) -- we've never seen O'Donnell get angry before, but I guess the BS from the right just got too deep for him!

Hi Dave,

How sad and pathetic. O'Neill is hardly from the right, and I think the man has earned as much of a right to speak for himself, the 200+ other vets in his group, and the thousands of vets Kerry impuned with HIS PROVEN lies about them. O'Donnell demonstrated that he had nothing to refute O'Neill so he was reduced to trying to shout him down with namecalling. Disgraceful.

I see him on McLaughlin every week. The group seems

to be sharply tilting left, so there's not much being said that should get that kind of response from him. It does though, and it's getting very tiresome. I guess DK would like us to believe that he's neutral. The left increasingly has no willingness to let their opponents speak. They want to interrupt and shout them down.

I saw it when it happened, Evie,...
by Paul C / October 26, 2004 8:47 PM PDT

...and was surprised to see Larry O'Donnell, who's normally pretty well-mannered in his advocacy, descend to frothing at the mouth shouting down of Joh O'Neill (although I did learn a few new ways that the word "lie" and its derivitives can be used in a sentence;-)).

This led to the spectacle Monday night of Pat Buchanan reading a statement from MSNBC promising that O'Donnell would never do that again, etc.

It was all truly weird...

Hi Paul,

Yes, bizarre! I don't watch MSNBC much (heck if you miss any of the former anchors, all the good ones are on FNC!), but it was my major source back post-2000 election. I remember O'Donnell being a rather calm commentator at the time, actually being mostly fair in his analysis although he would slide in a biased zinger every now and then.

But not THIS!!! O'Neill put him to shame by remaining ever calm. Frankly, even if O'Neill were the biggest liar on the planet, let the man talk, then refute his claims. When I first heard the clip on the radio I envisioned them being both on the set with Buchanan. He could have done a bit of a better job, but, in the end now seeing they were both on monitor, the producer REALLY ought to have cut the man's mic at some point along the way.

My wife and I saw the show a week or so ago

Seemed to us McLaughlin was on some kind of medication ("stoned," as she put it). He wasnt his usual, sharp self.

Hi, Dragon.

>> Seemed to us McLaughlin was on some kind of medication ("stoned," as she put it). He wasnt his usual, sharp self.<<
Is that code for "he seems to be increasingly opposing Bush and his War?" He hasn't made an official call, but for the first time since we've been watching his Group I'm not positive he'll vote for the Republican presidential candidate.

I was being very literal. BTW, my wife, whos is on the wrong side of the aisle (shes blue), believes is leans a bit to the left. I dont have an opinion, yet.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
