Usually have to be more than 1000 feet from nearest house, but looks like there's room to herd them that far away and fill the freezer with some.

According to my conservation agency here in Western VA

when I asked about why there are larger and many more rabbits around here in recent years, he said it was a combination of two things......we didn't have enough coyotes left so they were reintroducing them (which would also take care of some of the heavy deer population explosion, and we had a number of back to back very mild winters that didn't kill off the rabbits and deer. Last year and this year have been much colder (even without the extra heavy snowfalls locally) and we should see a reduction in the size and number of rabbits again, and possibly a small reduction in the deer population since many fawns won't make it either.
