The quick fix here is to change the email to PLAIN TEXT. Bam. It works now.

Microsoft Office File Validation Add-in
has seemed to somehow disable editing emails. What I mean is when I type an email in Office 2007 (running on Windows XP SP3), I can't move my mouse to insert a missed word, I have to hit the back space key to erase everything until the place I want to enter the missed word. Additionally, when I forward an email, I no longer have the ability to delete text in the email.
Has anyone else noticed this or am I the lucky one?
