Question

Last cam we bought had mini-tape. . .now what do we need ?!?

Aug 26, 2011 6:23PM PDT

We take a lot of road trips and have endless hours of road scenery, stops etc. . .tapes (1 hr.play). We end up with 10-20 tapes from our 2-4 week trips. They seem cheap compared to what it is going to take nowdays. I (think) I we want to tape in HD, but it seems the price of memory is going to be steep. . . We have been looking at a few $500-$600 models (Samsung, Pan SD 90, Can M400) What to do? It seems there are quite a few very qualified experts on this forum to help some old timers trying to modernize! Are we going to have to search -ebay for mini-DVD tapes? Happy Thanks in advance!

Not broken? Don't fix it.

The manufacturers decided for us that flash memory is "best*, but I agree with your perspective on the expense - especially for long-term storage.

Thank you so very much for the input! It was VERY helpful and quite funny too. . .the funny part is the "next" question!. . .and yes we are going to have to upgrade that too! If we still have mini-dvd tapes. . .you can imagine the age of our computer Happy It will be a good thing all around and we'll be in the 21st century eh!?! Thanks again! Have a great day!
