Is it plugged to the charger?

Maybe the battery's dead and the charger has failed too. However, since the fan is going, it sounds like a possible CPU failure. Is there anything happen at all on the monitor?

Hi, battery and the charger are okay. Laptop was in sleeping mode about 2 hours. But it did not wake up. the power is on, the fan is working. I can see that laptop is trying to wake up but it can not. Same happened 2 days ago and the laptop did wake up 1 day later. Monitor is always black. I can see that hard disk is sleep mode and never wake up. I do not know what to do..

Answer
Next time you get it to work, STOP USING SLEEP.

For such a failure to wake I'm forced to press and hold the power button for about 10 to 60 seconds. This causes a hard shutdown and then I can power up unless there is a hardware failure. I'm hoping as you are that this is the old hang in sleep issue and not a hard fail.

So if that doesn't work, power down again with the hold the button method then remove charger and battery then hold the power button for 60 seconds, release and slip in the battery then the charger and test again.

If it doesn't power up, you have a dead laptop and have to consider repair, replace options.

I did press the hold the power button 1 minute and released. Put back the charger and test again. Still the same. Power is on, Power button is flashing, fun is working, screen is black, I can see that the laptop is trying to wake up. But nothing happens. 2 days ago, it did wake up once. But not anymore. If laptop wakes up again I shall stop using the sleeping mode facility. Everything is okay with the computer but it is simply not waking up. May be it will wake up one day when it feels like it. I really do not understand what is wrong with the computer?

Let's keep it simple.

The laptop is not having an issue with wake because it is not sleeping. The procedure given resets it and if it won't power up you are dealing with a broken laptop and not a resume from sleep issue.

As a laptop dies, it may work then not and confuse the owner as to the failure. I don't see any make, model or age so I can't tell you if I think it's worth repair. We have ways to remove the drive if the owner forgot about backups.

Thank you for your interest and help. Following my search on internet I finally managed to find the answer and the solution:

Above link will tell the exact problem and the solution. It worked for me but the computer cover a little damaged due to heat from the hair dryer. I could give less heat but I did not know. Now I did set new power option. Computer will not go to sleep anymore.
Very good experience. Thank you.

That's not something a shop will do for you.

While it's nice it worked out, I'm sure you know no respectable shop will offer this procedure.

If you take out the battery, turn off the power supply and turn it off after some minutes - the laptop continue to have this issue, then is totally a hardware problem. Best practice is to go to laptop service so the specialist to check it - it isnt so expensive...

May be a software problem but if repeats randomly - hardware for sure.
