laptop wont turn on

Nov 20, 2009 7:00AM PST

I hve a toshiba satellite L305D-S59222. Was working fine last night. This morning it had no charge, so I plugged it in and turned it on. The lights all lit up, but nothing else happened. Thought maybe it just needed to charge a little, but still nothing. Tried unplugging and plugging it back in. Turned it off and then on again. Again, the lights go on, but screen remains black. What should I do?

Try unplugging any USB or added devices. Pull the battery too and AC cord. Wait a 10 count, put the AC back on and then try one more time. If it fails to boot use a Volt meter and tell me what the cmos battery voltage is. This is entry level laptop repair work so if you don't do this it's best to take it to its maker for an estimate.
