Question

Laptop won't connect to intternet using cable

Jul 11, 2017 7:54PM PDT

Hi, recently my Asus laptop does not connect to the internet using the ethernet cable. I tried using the adapter, and it still does not connect. I was old to see if the pins line up but I do not understand why the USB Adapter does not work. The cable is fine. Please advise. Thank you for your help.

I assume it works wireless, and that you did install the drivers for the USB-Ethernet adapter. Things to try then:
1. Take it with you and try with a friend. It could be your modem/router has an issue. Try both the built-in connector and the adapter.
2. Shutdown and boot from a Linux disk or stick. Retry #1.

Well if using a WIFI router

disconnect and go straight from the Modem. If you have a internet your router is bad. Since you tried 2 cards I doubt it's the card or drivers. That is if you installed the drivers for the adapter.

You should go to service center and get checked. For machine, expert has to see what the problem is.
