We used to send those jobs to a competitor down the street. It was an evil thing to do since they went under.
Be sure to know to try the usuals then bail on such a repair.
1. New CMOS or RTC battery.
2. The "resets" (just covered at http://forums.cnet.com/5208-12546_102-0.html?forumID=133&threadID=320563&messageID=2990726&tag=forums06;posts#2990726
3. Glean what you can from http://www.fonerbooks.com/workbook.htm
I have a weird laptop brand twinhead. Basically my laptop working fine until got fan error message during boot process. then i figure out the pin at fan connector is broken. I replace the connector and enter bios setting. In bios setting there are menu said "Auto fan learning speed" and its mark disable. So i enable it then it move to learning fan speed then ask to shutdown. then i restart again, the screen is blank and but the fan is moving and power LED indicator is blinking. hardisk also moving and also DVD drive. But the problem is the computer no enter bios and fail at POST. I believe there is bad setting on CMOS. I already try to reset bios by using jumper pin (actually this motherboard is using switch not jumper) and it not working. Then i remove battery also not working. I already remove all components to narrow the defective component in it.
How to do proper CMOS reset because pulling battery and use jumper not working this time. I googling a bit and found out about flashing the bios. but most of it using windows to upgrade@flashing the bios. How to flashing the CMOS if the computer could not even enter bios and windows.
If you thinking the monitor is dead well i attach external monitor too. My bios chip is D212 R1.08. Is there any replacement of this chip.
