Question

Laptop with external monitor: color calibration

Aug 31, 2016 12:54PM PDT

I have a laptop, but I connect an external monitor to it and set the external monitor as the primary which then blacks out the laptop screen. If I color calibrate the external monitor (not using specific software, just doing it via calibration in the computer), is it going to reset every time I disconnect it from the laptop, or will it "remember" its calibration settings every time I plug it in and set it to primary?

Answer
My son uses the Pantone Huey system.

So I can't guess what you are using but may have to upgrade what you have.

Not needing an upgrade

I'm not wanting to upgrade anything. I'm just asking a technical question regarding monitors and calibration.

I think you need something that works.

My son tells me the Pantone works as expected. This would be a fix, not an upgrade in this case.

Wrong word on my part.
