Question

Laptop Wireless Problem

Mar 29, 2017 9:05PM PDT

I have two laptops, a fairly new Toshiba AMD A10, 1TB HDD, 12GB RAM running Insider Program Windows 10 pro and an older ASUS laptop with lower specs running Windows 10 Home edition both running wireless on my home network. The ASUS download speed is about 29 MBPS. The Satellite broadband speed is about 2.8 MBPS - 10% of the other laptop broadband speed. Can't figure out where the problem is. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Did the Satellite ever run faster on wifi?

If so, then possible the internal wifi (assumed) is failing. Tried it with a USB wifi device?

Laptop Wireless Problem

As a matter of fact the problem is intermittent and the Satellite does occasionally run at a reasonable wifi speed. Your suggestion is excellent. I didn't think of it but I will definitely try running on a usb wireless device for several days and check to see whether or not the speed is up and consistent. Thank you.
