Question

Laptop Windows 10, wifi won't turn on

Mar 27, 2016 7:51PM PDT

Do you know what the problem is when I keep on clicking on my Wi-Fi button and it won't turn on? For example if you have an iPhone or an Android, and you have a turn off and on button for Wi-Fi, but when you turn it on, it won't turn on. So can you guys tell me if the problem is a hard drive problem and what is the solution to this problem?

Hi computer89m - Where are you clicking (or trying to) the Wi-Fi button? Is the Wi-Fi button grey out when you open up under "network & internet" in the control panel? Is your Win 10 updates up-to-date? Please let us know. Thanks

Answer
Varies with the model.

For example my Dell needed a new version of Quickset. This is an app that some uninstall or delete. Since the make, model isn't here I can only share this.

Is the WiFi manually turned off? It could just be that. Has the WiFi worked previously? What model is your laptop, and do any other people with your specific laptop have this problem -- have you dropped it or done anything to harm it in any way recently, and how old is it? Are your WiFi drivers there, and are they updated? Have you tried restarting?

You can try those! Sorry if I am of no help.
It most likely isn't a hard drive problem, it could be your WiFi card.. I would severely doubt that it is a hard drive problem.
