Question

Laptop windows 10 - wifi issue

Nov 1, 2018 1:09AM PDT

The wifi has full bars, but when I try to use any browser, all I can usually do is search something up, but if I try to click on a website it'll say I have no Internet connection after loading for awhile. All other devices work fine. Any ideas?

- Any issues when you connect with an Ethernet cable in stead of wireless?
- Any issues when you type the URL in the address bar of the browser yourself, in stead of relying on a search engine? Try www.cnet.com and www.thetimes.co.uk
- Any issues if you type the IP-address in the address bar of the browser, in stead of relying on the DNS system. Try 81.69.145.94. What do you see?
- Any issues when after you boot into Safe Mode with Network?

Something to add to this, YouTube and Facebook seem to work but absolutely nothing else does.

DNS

Change your DNS setting on router and on computer to 8.8.8.8 and secondary to 8.8.4.4 and try again. That's google's DNS server. A DNS server is what takes your URL and converts it to the site's IP address for you. Your DNS might be having a problem.
