Resolved Question

Laptop will not charge even if it shows that is charging

Oct 24, 2011 10:09PM PDT

Hi all,

I own a Toshiba Satellite. It is the first time this happened to me. While i had it plugged in (with battery in the laptop), and showing that it was charging the battery was getting discharged slowly. I tried another Toshiba charger, the same thing. I also removed the battery and plugged it in directly to the power but without success.

Any help guys is higly appreciated!
Regards,
Mike

How old is this battery?

As a rough guide, batteries last anything from 18 months to 3 years, depending on usage, or around 300 re-charging cycles.

May be this battery is failing and needs replaced?

Ok, now that the laptop is known to be broken, maybe you can try this battery on another machine?

Your first post was not about a broken laptop so I can only guess you want to save this battery?

thanks for the reply.

I believe i found the problem. it is the charger. and the second charger i used had different amperage! so it wouldn't charge my battery. I tried with a similar amperage charger and everything ok!

thanks
