General discussion

laptop widescreen

Shopping a new laptop and they all seem to have wide screen. Will slides with photos and graphs in my powerpoint presentations project on the screen as elongated wide-screen pics or in the true aspect ratio? Also, when I view my digital pics on a wide screen laptop, will they be elongated or in true and correct aspect ratio?

What kind is it? How about viewing digital pics? Same option of selecting aspect ratio?

Dells, Compaqs, etc.

The issue you write of, is not an issue on any of them.

As to aspect ratio, that is determined (on the external output) by that display device and not the PC. I only need to set the x by y pixel count on the PC and if it's in the range of the projector I get an image.

If you are writing about the laptop display, I move from widescreen to old displays and don't see an issue with stretching or such. Go shopping and you can check that.

As long as you set the resolution to one that is supported by the display you will have no problems with stretching
