Laptop to tv advice - thought I knew but ...

I thought I had it but the tv shows my laptop screensaver and not the tv movie??

Laptop to tv

Apologies for being thick but when I make the tv the 1ry monitor the resolution is changed so I cant access some commands (text bigger)
Now my laptop has the background only (no icons)

On a tv you have so few pixels that you won't get to all menus. Nothing busted about that. It's a known limitation.

The movie should play tho.
