Laptop to PC hook-up

Nov 19, 2003 3:43PM PST

I am attempting to hook up a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4300 to my desktop PC Athlon 2000+ 512mb ram 98SE, using an ethernet link. The idea is to transfer large files beween the two as the laptop has no CD burner. The laptop is running 98SE and has 192mb. The laptop has a Micronet PCMCIA 100/10 Mbps card and the PC has a 100BASE-TX Fast PCI Adapter. I have hooked them together with a cross over cable but am not sure what I do next. Someone mentioned NetBoy software but I don't have a clue where I find this. Can someone help?

The key items in PC2PC networking are:

1) Workgroup names the same
2) File and Print sharing enabled
3) Resources set to share
