I'm attempting to connect my laptop to my LCD TV (HDTV 1366x768), but I'm not sure which would connection would result in the best picture.
I have a JVC LT40X887 tv, with VGA (D-Sub), HDMI, Firewire/i-link/IEEE 1394, s-video, and component ports.
My laptop is a Sony VGN-NR180E, with a d-sub and a firewire/i-link port (so no hdmi or dvi ports).
I'm leaning towards getting a good vga-vga cable to connect the two since it seems easiest, but would it even be possible to connect the two via the compatible firewire ports? I found the following article on Newegg.com that suggests firewire gives better video quality than d-sub connections: (http://images10.newegg.com/UploadFilesForNewegg/itemintelligence/Catagory%20LCDTV/NIC-Pro-Introducing_the_LCD_TV_connectors-v1.1e.pdf). If so, would I need the signal from the laptop need to be converted?
