Question

Laptop stuck in please wait before log in

Sep 6, 2016 4:42AM PDT

Pleas can someone help urgently, I have my cv and other work related files that I can not access. My laptop now sticks with please wait before the windows logon screen. Control alt delete doesn't work so I can boot into safe mode, neither does F8 & shift and I just can not access anything. Hopefully someone can help me here.

Maybe you don't use the right method to log in into Safe Mode. That depends on your OS. In Windows 10 you can use the recovery drive you made or the installation disk/USB you can download.
If Safe Mode doesn't work to fix it, try a refresh or reset of Windows. Details depend on what version of Windows you have.

Hi and thank you for your response, I'm using 8.1 and stupid me did not create a recovery disc. I didn't get a copy of the disk when I purchased the laptop and I brought it brand new. I'm stuck on pleasse wait and unless I move my mouse around then after some minutes it just shuts down.

Thank you, I have a problem though as my windows key I found in my settings on the laptop. Normally there should be a windows sticker under the laptop? So I'll be stuck when when I need to input that?

For repair, you don't need a key. Only for a clean install.
To use the recovery disks you can order from the maker, you don't need a key either.

If there's no sticker, and it's not mentioned on the invoice or so, and you didn't use Belarc's Advisor or a comparable program to print it, then if you need it, you have a problem.
