So I recently got notified about a new bios update for my laptop..which I successfully downloaded and installed..only to discover that my computer won't boot after restarting..it gets stuck at the hp startup screen and that's it..nothing else!!
I made some research online, trying to find out possible causes and stumbled on an article talking about the need to change the hardrive settings from IDE to SATA(links attached)
I tried doing this but unfortunately couldn't due to the following reasons:
1.Once its get stuck at the hp logo screen, I can't seem to boot into bios no matter how fast I press the f10 key after restarting.
The only way I was able to get into bios was by removing the hardrive, and pressing f10(without the drive in).
2.On getting to the bios screen, all I saw were basic functions..I couldn't access the advanced tab needed to change the drive settings.
I tried searching on hp forums for the "advanced tab combination keys" but couldn't find anything
(I guess hp keeps it secret)
I have been trying to solve this problem for about two weeks now and would be really grateful if anyone can be of help.
Looking forward to a reply soon.
