Given the possibly charges involved to fix, make the call to get it fixed under warranty. If the warranty expired, pay up for the extended warranty, get confirmation it's in force, hang up, have tea then make the warranty call.
I have an HP DV2000 operating on Windows Vista. Recently i was listening to a song on iTunes and then the system froze. Noting responded so I hard booted it. The fans would turn on and all the lights would turn on but the screen remained blank. There are no sounds coming from it and the light that indicates the hard drive stays off. This happens every now and then. The laptop needs to stay off for hours before it finally turns on. when it turns on a message pops up saying that the computer failed to shut down properly and gives me the option to start it up normally or on safe mode. Any idea on whats the problem, why it does it, and a way to fix it?Thank You.
