Laptop shutting off

Dec 13, 2009 5:43AM PST

I have an approximately four year old HP laptop that I took out the battery about a year ago and run it off electricity because this is the only way works. This morning, after a few minutes it would shut off.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Karen

When your laptop is connected to the power adapter, what happens when you "jiggle" where the adapter plugs into the computer? Does the HP turn off?

At a certain point replacing older hardware parts just doesn't make sense. It might be time to start thinking about getting a new PC.
