Laptop screen problem

A pink line suddenly appeared on my laptop and below that line the screen is pink, I can see through it but idk what is happening?

If I press on the screen, the bottom screen just mirrors the top screen in pink

So far that means the LCD panel has developed a fault.

To test this I hook up an external and if the external in mirror mode is clear it's usually the LCD. However there is an outside chance it's the display system which is on the the motherboard.

In the future always supply the make and model number (not just the series) so I can look up the cost of the LCD. Also some models like the famous ones I will advice "do not repair."
