Question

Laptop Screen Hyper-Extended Now Screen Wont Work

Aug 4, 2016 10:13PM PDT

Hello,
So a few months ago I was sitting on my couch on my laptop. My younger brother rolled on top of me and over the laptop hyper-extending it. There was a crack noise but the laptop worked perfectly fine other than difficulty closing it. So after about a month, the casing around the hinge on the right side pooped off exposing the metal hinge. I saw that the hinge as snapped and now the right side of the laptop was hanging on by just two thin wires. it really was n't a big deal to me because the laptop still worked perfectly fine. About 2 weeks later, the wires frayed apart and snapped. The laptop still worked fine.
About a month ago the left side, as I was opening my laptop, made a crack noise as the casing of the left hinge broke off. This exposed a broken hinge and a wire. The laptop still worked fine up until today, while I was using it, the screen went black and it hasn't worked since. It shows that the laptop is on and charging, it also makes the noises when you plug something such as a USB cord or storage device in. The screen is just black. I know this all stemmed off from the original hyper-extension. I would like to know if anybody would have any knowledge on what this is and if it is an expensive repair. I would at least like to get all my stuff off of it before I can't get it at all. Anything helps! I just need answers quick. Thanks!

Have you tried to connect an external monitor and see if there's any displays.

It does work when I connect it to my tv via HDMI.
