Laptop screen flashing, can not get to desktop

Nov 3, 2014 5:29AM PST

So my hp 4540s laptop with win 8 won't get to desktop.
After i force shut downed it started flashing after the hp logo (turning from gray-blue to black) I tried pressing F7 and F10 while booting up to enter safe mode but with no success.
I would be glad if you could help me.

That's not f7 or f10, that's f8 (type repeatedly after the BIOS is ready with POST). However, it's not sure to help.

Why did you force shutdown?

I will try that tomorrow, because i don't have time now, i will post what happened. Thank you.
The reason why I shutdown it was because I had problems with the internet (it said that it was connected but i could not open anything and the bar to choose a network froze) I did a normal shot down but it took a long time (much longer than usually, witch happens often when i have that problem with the internet on both my laptops) so i force shut it down. There have not been problems after that on any laptop after doing that yet.
