Screens have a viewing angle property. Some screens have a wider viewing angle than others. A narrow viewing angle can be desirable for security reasons.
Recently I changed the screen of my laptop (Dell Inspiron 9300) as the earlier one was dying. In the new screen, the contrast of the picture seems to change with angle of view. The colors look nice when viewed straight on but if you go sideways the screen becomes shiny and the contrast becomes faint. I wanted to know if it's a built-in property of some type of screens or something else?
Thanks in advance.
