Laptop's Clock Not Working

Nov 24, 2009 1:26AM PST

I have an HP laptop running Windows XP Pro and I left it off for several months. When I booted it up the other day I noticed the system clock was weeks behind. I corrected the date/time and while the laptop is on it keeps normal time. The problem is when I shut it down it seems to shut down the clock as well.

Do I have a dead battery? Is this something user replaceable?

Thanks,
SP
