I recall there's a 14 and 15 inch model too. DVD drives have faded over time. I rarely use one so I went with a laptop that didn't have one. I put a 25 buck USB DVDRW in my bag of kit.
I had a Toshiba Satellite E205-S1904 that has recently died after 5.5 years. I am looking for a similarly good laptop and my main concerns are reliability and long battery.
I see laptops as long investments and I prefer buying a $1000 one for 6-8 years than buy a $200 one every other year.
I know I could have taken care of this laptop better, but I would like my laptop to last 6-10 years, or even beyond, with minimal breakdowns and repairs. At least, functional after 5.5 years.
I also liked how long the Toshiba lasted, and I can sit comfortably in 3-4 hour lectures without finding a socket. I am looking for a laptop that lasts just as long, if not longer.
I work in an office doing research and I don't have high graphic design or gaming demands. I also don't want touch screen.
The Toshiba has a 2.26 GHz processor, 14.1 inch display, 4gb memory, 500 gb storage, built in microphone, built in webcam, multi touch mouse pads, DVD, resolution 1366 x 768 pixels, and is 5.1 pounds.
I am looking for laptops that have similar levels of features, similar sizes, maybe lighter than 5.1 pounds, and I can do with 250 GB storage.
