Laptop Recommendations

Any recommendations on whether to buy one or the other or a different laptop.

My criteria are:

1) mobility (battery life, weight
2) multi media (can allow me to connect to external devices)
3) reliabilty (has good processing speed and can holds up well.

If you go with an IBM

and battery life is high priority, you can purchase the 9 cell option. I think it's about 50 bucks or so more. It's awkward side is that it protrudes from the rear of the machine about 1 inch but it does add extra time of use.

IBM Thinkpads are nice but the Toshiba Portege will pic up the slack.i would say toshiba.toshiba has had issues with hardware in the past that they have well resolved .Im a toshiba Qosmio user and ive found the company to be strong.
