This BGA processors are soldered onto the motherboard, I know you want to change it but it takes a special rework station and then you have to find another matching BGA CPU but that's thousands to upgrade a few hundred dollar laptop.
For RAM? Crucial.com.
Need that last hurrah speed boost. Replace the HDD with a SSD.

I am running a Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5357. It has 4 gigs of RAM built in and I recently put 1 TB of HDD space in it.
I am now looking into upgrading the RAM to 8 or 16 gigs but I'm new to this and I could really use some pointers.
Compatability: It has 2 AMD Dual-Core E-300 Accelerated Processors with AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics (copypasta). I Haven't opened it up yet because I want to be prepared before I do, but I think I know, more or less, what's under the hood. I'm guessing it's dual channel if the spec sheet says there are two processors inside. I was hoping to keep up with AMD and their new series models, but I'm not sure which processors would be good with the mother board.
The mother board is a Toshiba Portable PC 1 MP and the BIOS is by Insyde Corp. 6.20 1/9/13 (copypasta).
What to Expect:
**TL;DR: What comes after I physically install this thing? What do I need to do to prepare in terms of systemic installation? Is it anything like installing a Hard Drive?**
Look, I'm new to this. I haven't done much in the way of upgrading my laptop other than installing a new hard drive and honestly, it was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I asked around on the internet before I installed my Hard Drive and everyone said to just buy a hard drive and stick it in your laptop. So that's what I did and of course it wasn't that simple. No one said anything about having to get your copy of windows, creating a partition or ANYTHING! They made it sound like all you had to do was pick a new hard drive and plug it in like a USB drive.
I don't want you to spoon feed it to me, I just want some guidance of what to expect after I physically install this *******. Thanks for any and all advice!
