Laptop plugged in and not charging

I've had my laptop fo just undr a year. I've recently been having a problem with my laptop. Plugged in not charging. The classic problem. I called Acer and they sent me a new battery which charged when it was first plugged in. However now when I tried to see if it would work with it on it gives me that sign again. (I know from previous experience it will charge when battery is run to nothing and turned off). I'm confused help.

I also neglected to say its telling me the battery is 100 percent charged when it isn't.

That's a known issue

With dead batteries or failed charging circuits. The tests are expensive. I swap the mainboard if the battery works in a good laptop. You didn't tell if the AC ADAPTER is stock but some replacements either don't work or fry the mainboard. It's why I stick to stock parts for chargers and batteries.
