Question

Laptop Outside For Months

Mar 12, 2018 10:28AM PDT

I'm not sure if there is any chance of recovery but would greatly appreciate any advice. Unbeknownst to me, my old HP Pavillion ZV6000 laptop was outside at my parents house for the winter and possibly longer. Long story. Idk how it was stored that entire time but when I found it it was in a garbage bag inside an unzipped laptop bag, and the laptop itself was OPEN about 1/2 an inch. Any North East winter weather you can think of, it's prob. been through. I don't expect to get a functioning laptop again but need to know if there's anything I can do to recover anything off the hard drive and how to try. THANK YOU.

Did you try the usual?

I would put the HDD into some USB case and see if my PC can read it.

I took the battery out but was too nervous to do anything else. I've never messed with a hard drive ever. Looking into the USB cases online now, thanks!
