iTunes won't let you sync music back to a computer that didn't have the files to begin with. Instead, try Winamp (winamp.com) with the ml_ipod plugin (http://www.mlipod.com/). It will allow you to copy your files back from the iPod onto any computer. Once you do that you can continue to use iTunes or Winamp to manage your iPod, but I would recommend Winamp. iTunes is the good son of Satan (the bad one being SonicStage).

Winamp + ML_iPod is, by the way, much much much better than iTunes.
