While I don't buy this name in the US, will you opt for the warranty?

I am looking for a gaming laptop that can handle some of the new games decently, but can still be good for use when I go to college this fall. I am wondering what other good affordable gaming laptops there are other than the Gateway FX model and preferably under $1100.
I have recently found 2 laptops that I have grown interest to the ASUS G50Vt X1 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9050279&st=ASUS+G50Vt+X1+&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1218012519873) and this other Asus model found on BestBuy. (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9173262&type=product&id=1218044029168&ref=09&loc=01&srccode=cii_5766179&cpncode=24-26318954-2)
They both have similar specs, and I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to computers so I was wondering what is the difference between the two laptops. Also if i were to choose between these two laptops, which one would be the better one to buy?
Thank you for your time.
