And did it ever work right?

Why not think over changes and use System Restore to that day?

Remember this is not a known issue with a single cause. You must reveal more.

Mine use to do the same thing

Mine did that to, but it did it when it had been left idle for a few minutes and found out that MS defrag was running. Maybe the puter is in idle and not standby. Took me 3 tries to turn off Windows 7 background defrag. lol I finally figured it out and it no longer goes nuts when in the idle mode
