This http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=2020 adapts all known laptop hard drives to USB so we can get our files out.
It's a bit more than a "special wire" but it is what I use all the time.
I had a Dell Inspiron 150m.
While running, it fell, and now, when I plug in the adapter, it shorts.
So I gave up on the laptop. (Any advice is obviously welcome!)
So I have another computer, but all the files are stuck on the laptop. How can I attach it to another computer to retrieve them? Someone mentioned about disconnetcing the CD drive, and using a special wire..., but there must be some wire to connect the Haard drive to USB. Any advice?
