Laptop hangs when answering a voice call

Jul 18, 2009 2:07AM PDT

Dear Sirs,

I have a weird problem with my HP Pavilion dv9704tx Entertainment PC.

My sister lives overseas, so I need to talk to her almost everyday using my headphone on Skype v4.0 software. During an incoming call, I can hear the ringing sound["tring tring"]. As soon as I press the "ANSWER" button, my laptop hangs[everything comes to a standstill, then obviously I have to restart it]. Also, when I press the "CALL" button, the laptop hangs.

I tried using other software like Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, etc. but they all resulted in the same problem[laptop hanging].

This means that the problem is not due to software. So I tried using other headphones, all again giving the same problem.

Kindly give an appropriate solution to this problem.

My laptop has Windows VistaTM Home Premium loaded with Service pack 1.

May Peace Prevail On Earth

If I accept this then your next call is to HP to have the hardware repaired.

It's a big world with many numbers with at least one per region. That number should be at hp.com.
