Laptop/ gpu advise

by Rikyrik_81 / May 25, 2015 8:54 PM PDT

Hi, I dont know much about laptops and laptop gpu/cpus.
Im wanting to upgrade my old titan pro, Ive found 2 but id rather go for the cheaper 1 but depends if its worth it or not.

Ths cheaper 1 is Asus ROG G72Gx
core 2 p8700 cpu
GTX 260m gpu.
6gb ram
750hdd

for £100 more I can get
HP ELITE
i5 2,66ghz cpu
fire pro M7820
4gb ram
320gb.

Id like for general gaming and ive started playing wow again and want max settings or near enough, system recommendations are really high for gpu according to pass mark, close ish to my gtx 670 which has a pm score of 5000+. Both gpus on the laptops appear very low on the passmark charts, off the top of my head 260m nearly 600 and m7820 1100+.

I did see on youtube bf3 on the 260m on low and looked pretty good so abit confused as I would not of expected that from passmark charts.

Any recommendations or advise would be useful.

Thanks

I also found this, it's cheapest of the 3 slightly
Gateway NV47
Processor: I7 2630QM 2.0ghz
Graphic card: hybrid, nVidia gt540m+ intel on board
ram: 8gb of samsung ddr 3, 1333mhz
Hardrive: Western digital blue label, 750G, in 4 partitions, completely wiped.

So out of the 3 what would be better? Not sure how it compares.

Thanks

The NV series appear to be troublesome.

If these are used, steer clear. Gaming laptops tend to be good for about 2 years then you don't want them.

How do I find which is a better gamer? Take the GPU and google like this:

NOTEBOOKCHECK gt540m

Bob
