Laptop for radio show

by kjmogel / January 30, 2006 11:50 AM PST

Hello, first time poster.

I'm looking to buy a new laptop with a few specific characteristics, and any advice people could give me would be appreciated. I host a radio show, and I am looking for a laptop with:

1. Very good sound that I can plug into the system to play mp3s and mixes directly off of. Currently I am using a laptop that works, but the lower end of the sound spectrum is crunchy and it doesn't sound quite right.

2. A line-in jack. Most laptops seem to have just microphone and headphone jacks, but some of the stuff that I will use it for will require a line-in jack for taking in sound from other sources and adding it to the audio out during the show.

3. Touch-screen. I have a sound effects program, but seeking out sound effects with the mouse during the show is cumbersome, and I would much rather do it by touching the button on the screen.

4. A wide screen would also be nice, but is not neccessary.

I've thought about gaming laptops, which would probably have superior sound, and note-taking pad-type laptops, which might have the touch capeability, but at this point I really don't know where to start looking for a new computer that can meet my needs. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Karl

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
