laptop for oracle apps R11i

Hi, friends,

I am in the process of buying good configuration laptop to install Oracle Applications Rel 11i vision and Dev environment.

Please can anyone advise me which configuration should i go for and which brand laptop will deliver the best configuration for high end applications such as oracle apps.

MySQL as a server runs on my p3-600 256MB Acer ter-600 when I'm on the road performing demonstrations. The application is running on it as well as Windows 2000.

For you, I'd double the RAM and MHz and go shopping.

Hi Thanks for your reply.

Hope If I pick toshiba centrino will help me in getting the required performance for oracle applications. basically i would prefer

intel Centrino mobile technology with 1gb ram,
if there is any better advise please do so.

Performance compared to what?

It's a nutty area since I see people running dual Xeon rack mount systems with 14 RAID drives and still complain about performance.

What I've found is my SQL code does affect performance far more than my platform.

Remember what I run my demo system on and you are looking at 4 times (or more) the CPU and RAM.

If your system doesn't work for you as 1 user, then something is very fishy.
