Hello, I am looking for my first laptop, I will be using it for school, gaming (Silkroad, Star Trek Online, BF:BC2, etc.), and other tasks (browsing, music, watching shows/movies, art, etc.) My budget is $800.00

Try the top of the forum.

It has choosers and one that I didn't add yet is newegg.com. You can try their chooser to hit your price. The nice part about the newegg chooser is you see what is in stock and not dated items or stuff you can't buy.

laptop suggestions

Hi there,

You should take a look at PC Scout, a laptop chooser: http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/pc-scout/laptop-set-criteria.aspx?mode=landing#. You just enter your specs (RAM, screen size, weight, etc) and it generates recommendations for you.

The Gateway NV5914u has great graphics and connectivity, which is perfect for on-the-go entertainment. Another option is the Acer Aspire AS7740-5691 which has great sound and a large display. There are also a variety of gaming laptops, but most of these fall out of your price range.

I hope this was helpful!
