Laptop for College/Graphical Design?

I am looking for a laptop and heard that macs are good for graphical design but don't know why (if someone can answer that please). I was looking at macbooks, macbook pro's, and maybe maybe maybe an imac. But I am not sure what I need in a laptop so I came up with some options, and if you have any suggestions please tell me.

OPTION 1:
MacBook, 13-inch, Aluminum with 4GB RAM and 320GB hard drive

* 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 2GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x1GB
* 250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
* SuperDrive 8x (DVD

there's nothing that makes a macintosh any better at graphics than a windows or linux machine, some artists and graphic designers like them because the laptops themselves are well designed, but they are a lot more expensive then similar hardware
