Gaming takes a heavy toll on the laptop so your average 2 or more year gaming laptop needs repairs and why they are selling it is usually it is failing in some way.
However in that price range I'd look at the Lenovo AMD A10 model since Minecraft will run. Not spectacularly but it will run.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Kaveri-A10-7300-Notebook-Processor.117333.0.html compares it to the nvidia 720m which pegs Minecraft at enough FPS ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qllSbUUcgC8 )

Hello all,
I just joined and hope I can gain some knowledge from the group. I did not search the entire forum for the answer before someone mentions it. Mostly because I'm too lazy to read through thousand of message to find an answer.
Anyway, my son is 11 y/o and is starting to spend too much time on my macbook air playing simple games like Roblox and Minecraft. I'm looking into getting him a used gaming laptop. Probably something around $500 or less USD.
Can anyone here share some advice on what brand and model would suit his needs/
Thank you in advance..
