Question

Laptop doesn't recognize Drive E

Sep 16, 2017 11:28AM PDT

HP 15-f004wm
Suddenly DVD drive won't start or play. Windows explorer doesn't show drive E in tools. When DVD inserted in the drive it begins but stops after 1 to 2 seconds. How do I restart the drive or set it up to perform?

Anything strange (like a yellow excalmation mark next to it) in Device Manager? If not, I'd start with replacing it. Might very well work.

Did you try multiple DVD's?

It could be the media.
