Laptop DNS and other problems

by JuanAGR / July 26, 2014 4:17 AM PDT

Hello!

So this is my first discussion and is for help!

I have a MSI GE60 with Windows 8.1 and is almost new (2 months) and I have this horrrible problem witn my internet that is keeping me away from playing and web surfing.

They are really two problems that I dont know if they are because of the same thing, but lets see.

1. My computer disconnects and disconnects sometimes. Its just like 5 minutes disconnects and I cant reconnect for random times. The wifi icon just empty and with this little asterisk. Funny thing is that when this happens no one in my house has internet. But they are connected to the internet and iam not. Sometimes the internet goes off, but is a general issues from my internet provider, no problem, but why my laptop disconnects and my other devices not?

2. This the most recent issue and the most annoying. 2 days ago I was downloading some files and surfing the web. The thing is that the internet went of, but the wifi indicator was at full strenght. I thought it was my stupid internet provider, but the thing was that the files I was downloading WHERE STILL DOWNLOADING AT 1MBs AND SO ON. I was like dafuk?, the thing was that my little sister didnt have internet to, but well, maybe it was my internet provider that block the web pages, TELMEX, Mexico, maybe the new law in telecom, but well my internet was ok, until TODAY.
The same problem started, this time only affecting my laptop. All the other devices where connect and with full strenght, but my laptop was with LIMITED ACCESS.
I look up for the windows solution and it said that my computer could connect to the DNS SERVER, this appered the last time when I couldnt open the web pages but I could download the files.
I change my DNS adress to the google public DNS, AND IT WORK LIKE A CHARM! BUT I DONT WANT THIS DNS!

So if anyone can help me with this issues it will be wonderful, I am more concerned in the DNS than the first problem, but lets see.

P.S: Sometimes, and when I say SOMETIMES is like rare, when I play DAY Z, bohemia interactive, my router disconnects from the INTERNET! And yeah I did a experiment in which I didnt open DAY Z for like 3 hours and the internet was ok, and the I open it and the Internet was off in all the house. I solve the problem CHANGING some parameters from STEAM, change the ping or something like that. The problem was solved, but now the funny thing is that this DNS PROBLEM started just 1 minute after I used TEAMSPEAK, something I always used.

THANKS AND SORRY FOR THE BIG POST

In thw number 1 of the problems, the disconnection problem is presented with internet and not internet from my router. Soemtimes I am playing DAY Z and it just dosconnects and reconnects inmediatly. But the wifi indicator goes from full 5 lines to no lines and asterisk

Let's say you don't want to use a working DNS

I'm unsure what else to do but send you to the person or company that supplies the DNS that didn't work.
