laptop connecting to tv

I have the jewel diamond 2500 laptop with an ATi radeon 9700 256Mb cideo card. When i connect it to my tv I can only see black/white. I already tried switching between PAl/NTSC setting but that doesn't seem to work.

Some weeks ago on another tv-set it worked without any problems. And when others use their laptop on my tv-set it also works without any problems!?!?

Anyone an idea?
