laptop connect

Hi just bought a used laptop,but i don't know how to connect it up to get on the internet.i have a pc and i am on broadband,(sky).
i have a sky modem ,do i need any other leads or modems . thank you.

The usual way: the right cable.

A broadband modem has Ethernet or USB. A laptop has Ethernet and USB. For USB you might need a driver; Ethernet should work without one.

Or did I miss something in your question?

Hi,
If you don't like cables, you need a wireless router (wlan,wi-fi).
