laptop computer display

compaq presario laptop display looking very weird,on my desktop I see ghost like purple lines that look like clouds all over it only gose bad sometimes for the most part it is ok,could this be a bad device driver for video card if so how can I update, this is a laptop.

Radian,

It seems very unlikely to me that this is a software issue. But of course you can try to download a new driver from www.compaq.com and install that.

My bet is that this is a hardware issue. You can't repair a laptop yourself, so better turn to the company where you bought it (or to HP/Compaq directly). Make sure however you don't pay more than the machine is worth at the moment. Laptop repairs might be rather expensive.

I agree with kees this is not a software problem but more a hardware issue as kees has said.

If you can tell me the model and serial number etc i can get the driver to fix your display problems.
