Laptop buying guide

Apr 19, 2015 4:54AM PDT

I have never bought a gaming laptop. I am looking for one that is upgrade able, 15-18(prefer 15 but doesn't matter) inch screen size, and that doesn't slow down for a little while. I want one with 970 or 980 m graphics. These are the laptops I am looking at, I just need some help deciding. (they will usually have maxed specs) If there are any other Ideas please post them

The one question.

Is this the usual "I want a desktop in a laptop" quest?

Those dual SLI models are usually very noisy and troublesome at times. My advice is a single GPU and pull back to 1080p graphics and maybe a notch back from Ultra. Then you can play without blowing a hole in your wallet.

close to 4000. The Alienware has a graphics amplifier that also you to use a desktop graphics card moves the extreme heat outside the laptop. You have a choice of desktops graphics cards also.
