Hi,
I want to install Visual Studio .Net, IIS on my laptop and develop web applications and windows applications. VS 2012 or VS 2013 is fine.

Can I install these softwares on Windows 8 Home laptop?

Thanks

HOWEVER if you got that strange 32 bit version you will be upset. In that case, return this laptop fast.

Sort of light for development work.

But maybe it's best for developers to not have a top gear machine? I'd skip the Celeron models for dev work.

The office set me up with the more dev type machine like a Lenovo y510p 16GB RAM, i7, etc.

Thank you!
I'm looking for one that I can use at home and do some dev work as well. Looking for somewhere around $350-$400 max.

That puts you in the i3 class or refurbs.

That said, my wife has a very similar model for travel. Not work. It was such a slug until I changed the HDD for a SSD but it would be a sad choice for dev work. Why not the Woot i5 models?

I checked the woot i5 models and they are good. I would also like to look at other laptops other than Dell, just finding the best one for me Happy

I'm seeing that touch screen is available for Win 8/8.1 models. But Win 7 models are not showing if they are touch screen capable.
Do Win7 models come with touch screen?

Thanks
