Question

Laptop Bootlooping

Sep 8, 2018 10:12PM PDT

I have a Acer Aspire R14, that keeps bootlooping upon powerup, the screen just blinks black, and the fan turns on for a second or two, and then it loops. Any ideas, it is not ram, nor storage. ?
Thanks

Would it still be motherboard if it occassionally turns on and runs?

Did run into many like this.

The majority required a new motherboard. Parts age, almost no board repairs done today so you pop in a new board. The damming reason for this call is the loop time is too short. It doesn't sound like it's a blown OS or bad HDD.

You can test for that by removing the HDD and booting from USB.

And the one time the screen turned on, was brief, and it was full of artifacts, which if it is the mobo, may explain it all, because when it did boot up and run, it retained the black screen, and would not connect through hdmi, assuming that with built in graphics, it either points to the cpu or the mobo, the last two things that can be blamed, lol
